Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation (CSE: CGOC), a Toronto-based cannabis-focused investment corporation has announced that it has completed an investment in C3 Center Holding Inc. within its private portfolio.
Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation acquired 1,000,000 shares of C3 for $500,000. This gives Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation a 3.3% stake in C3’s private portfolio. The investment will also allow Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation to use C3’s facilities.
C3’s facility located in Vaudreuil-Dorion is a 70s state-of-the-art campus designed for pharmaceutical production. This makes the facility ideal for cannabis growers, producers, processors, and researchers. The 180,000 sq. ft. secure warehouse space has various features like manufacturing facilities and labs linked by a network of underground tunnels and bunkers, a twelve-storey, 40,000-sq. ft. lab facility for research and testing, full security perimeter with gated entry, twelve-storey office tower with five 12,000-sq. ft. areas for craft growing, as well as office space, meeting rooms, cafeteria, and a 158-seat auditorium.
C3 contributes to the growth and emergence of innovative cannabis-derived products by allowing companies access to facilities dedicated to R&D. C3 helps startups to grow by providing access to capital and reducing commercialization-associated cost. C3 has also partnered with McGill University allowing McGill researchers to use their offices and lab.
In an expression of excitement, Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Jamie Blundell said, “We are excited to be a part of the C3 journey, as they foster the development of early stage cannabis companies. They are in a great location, situated just outside of Montreal, Quebec, which is a major export partner to Europe, including Germany, France, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. They have a solid team in place, and a unique business strategy which we are very supportive of. This investment ties into our diversified Investment thesis by investing in differentiated business models within cannabis value chain.”
